Glorious Garden Wedding Ideas

Want to marry Prince Charming surrounded by beautiful blooms? These garden wedding ideas are just what you need to help prepare the wedding of your dreams. Garden ceremonies can be easy to plan because Mother Nature provides most of the decorations herself.

I attended a springtime wedding held in a glorious garden on the grounds of a beautiful resort, which made things easy for out-of-town guests. We were able to book hotel rooms on the same property as the ceremony and reception.

The Ceremony Set-up And Decorations

Instead of walking down a traditional aisle to meet her groom at the altar, the bride was escorted by her father down a delicate pathway of brick pavers located between gorgeous plants and flowers. They ended up at a three-tiered outdoor fountain with the water turned off, and the ceremony took place directly in front of it. Once the couple was officially married, the fountain was turned on to act as a spectacular backdrop for wedding photographs. This ceremony definitely offered a few garden wedding ideas that anyone can use while planning their own special day.

The wedding reception was held on an impressive brick patio which was only a five-minute walk from the garden. Guests were able to mingle with the wedding party and one another while sipping wine and mixed drinks before dinner was served. Everyone sat at large round tables featuring some of the most unique wedding centerpieces I've ever seen-painted wooden birdhouses surrounded by three small potted plants and some rose petals scattered on the table. Not something you normally see as a centerpiece, but it went along perfectly with the overall garden wedding theme.

Wedding Invitations

The wedding invitations for this celebration were also unique - they consisted of sheets of pastel pink paper attached to glossy 5 by 7 portraits of the garden. The sheets of paper provided the basic wedding invitation information such as time and date, and they were tied to the photographs with dark pink ribbon.

Wedding Cake

As you may have guessed, a beautiful garden wedding that featured such creative centerpieces and invitations also had an absolutely gorgeous cake. It consisted of three separate round cakes placed on a cake stand. Each cake was a different flavor in order to please everybody's taste buds- you could choose from carrot cake, red velvet cake, or even German chocolate! The carrot cake was on top, and it was decorated with a miniature bird house that matched the table centerpieces. A simple groom's cake was also present for guests who preferred traditional yellow cake. These cakes alone were wonderful garden wedding ideas that you might want to incorporate into your own celebration.

Wedding Favors

The guests were sent home with lilac-scented candles to remind them of the beautiful fragrance of the garden, and a pack of personalized matches featuring the bride and groom's names and their wedding date. All in all, this garden wedding was a huge success.
