About The Wedding

Whether you want to get married in a traditional church setting or outdoors under the summer sun, your wedding attire can affect the theme of your wedding. A few months ago I saw a Hawaiian inspired wedding on television in which the bride wore an ankle-length white sundress and the groom wore a pair of white pants and a casual pale green shirt. They each had traditional white flower Hawaiian leis around their necks, and the bridesmaids and groomsmen (also dressed in sundresses and business-casual style pants and shirts) wore leis as well.

This wedding ceremony on television was held outdoors in a park, yet these outfits would also look great in an indoor setting. Instead of a traditional recording of the Wedding March, a local Hawaiian musician with a ukulele performed the music for the attendants and bride to walk down the aisle.

Hawaiian Wedding Decorations

A wedding reception held in a hotel or banquet hall could easily be decorated to match this theme: I think that some easy Hawaiian wedding ideas would be to use a pineapple surrounded by purple orchids as centerpieces on each table! This would look excellent and match your overall Hawaiian wedding theme. The food and drinks will also act as decorations if you offer cups with tiny umbrellas, a large arrangement of colorful fresh fruit, and a traditional ham.

Invitations

I once saw some beautiful folded invitations with pink plumeria in the upper left and bottom right corners in a stationary shop, and something along those lines would be perfect for a Hawaiian wedding. Be sure to mail them in envelopes with stamps that are decorated with tropical flowers!

Wedding Cake

I've been to several weddings in which the cakes were decorated with flowers, and any simple white wedding cake will instantly have a Hawaiian theme if it is adorned with flowers.

A strand of orchids or a few plumeria set on top of your cake will certainly have your guests oohing, aahing and aloha-ing!

Wedding Favors

In need of wedding favors? Try handing out miniature bottles of Bath and Body Works hand lotions and hand sanitizers in pineapple, coconut, and plumeria fragrances! Everyone loves favors that they can use again and again, as opposed to candy or cookies that they will eat right away.
