Marriage Made In Heaven -

My wife and I were into an affair since we were 15 years of age. We both belong to India.My father and her father were business rivals. Despite knowing this we could not stop ourselves from getting into each other because of the intense liking we had for each other.

Then, eight years passed by, we gathered the courage of telling the truth to our parents. My parents somehow agreed but my wife’s father was not at all ready for it. Then, we had no choice left but to run away from home and get married. Following this plan, on the 1st of December 2009, we gathered in court along with some of our really close friends and got married.

When our parents came to know this, they somehow agreed upon it and we were made to marry again with all prayers and rituals. So, finally for the public, we got married on 1st January 2010 on new years and our marriage was full of pomp and show.

Invitations were given to almost half the city including ministers and VIP’s. Hotel Babylon, where our marriage was to take place, was fully decorated with flowers and lights.At first, the priest started saying prayers and we took oath in front of fire by taking seven rounds around it. Then I tied the holy ‘Mangalsutra” around her neck which was a sign of our wedding. Following was the reception party in the lawn. The ground was lush green with grass and was surrounded from food stalls from every side. At the center was the stage where I and my wife were sitting. Turn by turn people came and wished us luck. Stage was decorated by the feathers of a peacock.

A 100 pound massive white cake was placed at the center of the ground which we finally cut and distributed amongst all invited. Video recording was going on and each moment was captured to make this day memorable.

So, that was the day and we are still continuing as a happily married couple. This is our sweet and simple love story.
