Outdoor wedding

An idea for a summer outdoor wedding:

When my friend told me she was planning her wedding for August, on the lawn of her grandparents' home, I told her she was crazy, because the weather in August can be really hot, even in the late afternoon. She said it was the only time that it was possible....

She assured me that she wasn't concerned because she had an idea how to make sure it would be comfortable.

What a surprise when we got there!! It was late afternoon and every guest received a beautiful folding hand fan, with the bride and groom's names and the wedding date printed on the fan (you could see it when the fan was open). The fan was done in the colors of the wedding theme (white and lilac) and was very helpful as an addition to the huge standing fans that were placed around the seating area for the ceremony and around the dining area. By the time we were ready to dance it was evening, the temperature was much cooler and the fans were put away - practical and beautiful favors for the guests to keep.
